Hallmark Card Studio Deluxe 2006

5 stars (great support) - I received this program right before Halloween. I was struggling with the program at first. I called tech support and they walked me through using the software. They were patient and helpful I am now making cards like a pro. Go Creative Home!! 3 stars (ITS ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES ARE EQUAL!) - The main positive attributes of this 2006 Deluxe edition of "Hallmark Card Studio" include the possession of improved graphical user interface, which is very easy to understand and master. Any new user of this software will feel at home within few hours of tinkering around it. The design tools have received some facelifts, and their respective versatility gained as a result. The same applies to their positions. Another thing going for this software package is its reasonable retail price tag, which very much made it a great bargain: relative to the job it does. As per negative attributes, most of the useful tools in this software are far from being as flexible as most users would want them to be. This is often the downside of most template-oriented graphics suites, which makes your having complete control of your design almost impossible. One other minus here is the poor printing options that you will find in this " Hallmark Card Studio Deluxe 2006 ". In fact, the inclusion of these sort of scanty/stingy printing options in a design tool is almost unpardonable. Nothing will ever compensate designers for it! The last but not the least, is the poor service that you are bound to receive from Hallmark's Customer Support Department, if you ever need to iron-out any issue with them. They are simply careless, and very far from being friendly. And, to worsen the whole thing, the information which you will obtain from their website, (regarding this software), is less than satisfactory. Hoyle Card Games 2005

5 stars (Hoyle Card Games) - The games are challenging and all function as appropriate. The games are good for all ages. 4 stars (A little new, a little old) - I love Hoyle Card Games. Ever since the Facemaker came along, I've been having fun creating versions of people I know. This latest iteration is no exception, but now you are doing your customizations with Hoyle Bucks - a virtual carrot for you to chase that "unlocks" neat new features. These new features include the ability to make monsters and pets (one style cat and dog, unfortunately), choose new music, choose new decks and backgrounds, and customize your character's play space with objects such as disco balls and a cold beverage. The virtual carrots also include new boards for cribbage. Nicely done. My one point of contention comes with the new players and the bowing out of some old players. The carryover players, such as Harley and Elaine, have very few new lines, if any. The new characters are pretty shallow and not entertaining in the least, save Capt. Scurvy. One question: What happened to GAX?! I'd drop Roswell in a second in favor of Gax. By the way... Kudos for adding Spite and Malice!! It's my new favorite game! 2 stars (Could be a lot better) - There are several programming errors. As an example it doesn't save the settings consistently so you will have to constantly reset it to your preferences. The game play is below average and there are not enough game specific options. For a simple card game program that Hoyle has updated for many years, it falls short in quality. I expected a much more refined product. My suggestion is to look elsewhere. ...

4 stars (RECOMMENDATIONS) - THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS YOU CANNOT SAVE A GAME AND RETURN TO IT LATER. WHEN YOU BEGIN AGAIN THE OPPOSING PLAYERS MONEY TOTALS ARE RENEWED. I HAVE TRIED CONTACTING THE COMPANY AND HAVE POSTED THIS ON THEIR BULLETIN BOARD. 5 stars (Addictive!) - I enjoy this game very much, as do others to come to my house. This particular box I recently bought for a friend was not compatible with his laptop PC for some reason. It works fine on my desk computer though. 3 stars (Casino 2004?) - Let me start by saying that the graphics and audio interaction is nice. However, that is where it ends. They have removed some of the video slots that were on the old version and as far as the poker goes? This is the most non-dealing version I have ever seen. I have played some poker in real life and I have never gone so many hands without even a pair, had so many "high card" hands in a row and seen so many flushes, full houses and four of a kind hands as the "computer players" get in a tournament. I was really disappointed in this version. I have faithfully bought the new versions each time they came out, however I have doubts about doing it again. Sierra/Hoyle let me down this time. ...
