5 stars (Love this game) - We got this for my 3 year old's birthday present and he loves it. It was unbelieveable how fast he mastered the mouse. He is able to play on his own but it is fun to play with him too. He has learned a lot from this game. We also stocked up on cheaper games, but they are worthless - this is definitely worth the $20. 5 stars ( Alphabet Express Preschool is great) - Aside from my son being scared of clowns, this is a great creation! 1 stars (System requirements misleading) - I really can't give this product any stars . . . the system requirements say 7 or later, but later stops at OS9. This product is NOT OS X compatible, so please beware! ...

The Story of the World- Activity Book One- Ancient Times- Second Edition

5 stars (Must have!) - I re-visited the idea of getting the activity book when my friend had all these amazing project ideas, coloring pages and activity pages--all from the activity workbook. It's tremendous, thorough, and does a lot of research and thinking for you. It's a fabulous extension of the Story of the World books. 5 stars (A great compliment) - We are 4 weeks into enjoying Story of the World Book 1 and have found the activity book to be a great complement. The suggested activities for each chapter make the text come alive. The group of coloring pages alternates between informative (but not overwhelming) maps and coloring pages appropriate to the text. I was especially pleased to coincidently (?) see a full color illustration in one of my mother-in-law's books on ancient Egypt that matched my daughter's coloring page version. We might have done the narrative retelling on our own, but having the narration guidelines helps. I like the activity book and don't know what we'd do without it! 4 stars (Great Story) - This is a great introduction to Western Civ. for children. It contains fictional stories, as well as information about people and places from this time period. ...

Pooh Preschool w-French and Spanish Jewel Case

4 stars (Great fun at first, but doesn't have much depth) - My 2 year old is a huge Pooh fan, and of course took to the good graphics and sound in this game right away. Some of the activities were rather non-sensical, but many were quite entertaining. Some of the counting and language excercises were very creative. The problem is that after we completed all of the activities and visited the bithday party (which took about 4 sessions), there was nothing else in the game to hold his interest. 5 stars (my son loves this cd-rom) - we've had this cd-rom for over a year now and my son still plays with it often. he's easily bored, so that says a lot. this cd-rom offers many activities and one can change the levels for a more challenging interaction. it also contains cute songs and is visually beatiful. this is a great product! 4 stars (Pooh fan) - I bought this game for my just turned 2 year old because she is a big Pooh fan. Some of the activities are a little hard for her but there are enough levels to keep her occupied. It seems like a great value because she will be able to use it for a few years and the price is so low. ...

Reader Rabbit Preschool

5 stars (In house pre-school) - I really recommend this for young children. It teaches them patience, and listening skills that will increase their attention span. My daughter is 3 and enjoys it very much. Note she is a little young for it, but I wanted to start her early and she plays on the Disney web site so much I decided to broden her learning. Since I have a 1yr old and in school now I don't sit and teach her as much as I used to and I wanted to fill in that gap in a way she will enjoy. If you plan to home school like me this is a good way to start your children out. I'm going back to school to be more prepared to home school my children and this is great to prepare them. As they get older I will continue to buy this product for the upper grade levels. ...

4 stars (fresh, light young, urban) - Fresh, light, young, urban. These are words that come to mind when I compare the styles in Iris Schrier's latest book to other recent books about modular knitting. They are all good but the designs in this one are more geared for up and coming young professionals. hip new knitters or knitters of any age who prefer a simpler, more understated look. Because they are less complicated and generally smaller they will be quicker to knit. Besides, Iris is a natural teacher so her instructions are easy to follow. 5 stars (Wonderful New Book for Knitters!) - Perfect book if you love hand-painted yarn and want it to look as good in your knitted piece as it does on the hank. It shows you through tutorials and 25 projects how to maximize the beauty of the yarn by turning and knitting to create interesting designs. Most of the chapters teach a way to knit in continuous modules without having to cut yarn or pick up stitches and the last one teaches traditional modular knitting. This is totally new stuff, so if you're adventuresome and want to expand your knitting abilities, you'll love it. ...

Freeform Knitting and Crochet Milner Craft Series

5 stars (Great book to get started with freeform crochet) - I read through most of this book the day I got it because it was that good. There is a section on color theory that helps you choose your yarns, and there are clear instructions on how to put together your "scrumbles" - which are the building blocks for freeform crochet. It is more step-by-step than other books on freeform, which is good for those who need it. The pictures are beautiful and inspiring, too. I'm a long-time crocheter, but I'm new to freeform. This book inspired me to work on my first freeform project - a vest. Crocheters with a desire for more creative expression will love this book! 5 stars (Go For it!) - I love this book, its broken down the walls surrounding the mystery of how to make my own free form garments and helped ease my fear that i can't be that creative! Its well written, with great ideas for projects, even with directions on how to make your own buttons, and has the best discussion on color and how to use and mix it that i have seen. This is the perfect way to use up small bits of left over yarns, especially all the great new funky yarns i can't resist. 5 stars (Freeform Knitting and Crochet) - Well thought out book. Chapman Piloting - Seamanship 64th Edition - The Boating World-s Most Respected Reference- Completel

5 stars (A MUST FOR NEW BOATERS AND A GOOD REFERENCE FOR ALL) - I just replaced my 54th edition with the 64th. Much of it is the same but much has also changed in the past 16 years. If you are new to boating this book might literally save your life. If you're a seasoned skipper you'll find yourself using it for a reference more often than you'd imagine. Covers every thing you need to know for boating in either sail or power. This book is "the Boater's Bible". If for no other reason than learning the "rules of the waterway" Chapman's is worth it's weight in gold. 4 stars (Great book "manufactured" and edited in China) - This is a great book. It has almost everything. What it does not have, I have not found. I do have a problem with the book. The number of "typos" is huge. It appears that whoever proofed this book was not fluent in English. The words appear to be spelled correctly; they are just the wrong words. It v. if? "United State" v. United States. I don't know if past editions had this problem, but this one shure does. ...
