5 stars (another fantastic inovation...) - when this first came out i wasn't sure i wanted it. the psp seemed worth the wait but when it came out i read all the horrible reveiws and i talked to a bunch of people who owned and i actually tried it. to put it simply, it sucked. then i tried the DS, and it was awesome!!!!! the touch screen is an amazing innovation in the gaming world and i love the dual screens. the games are a not so plentiful but by december more should be out. sorry sony and sony fans, the Nintendo DS beats you by a mile... ps- the DS is half the cost of the psp 4 stars (A blue version of Nintendo's second most current handheld gaming machine) - Due to the release of the Game Boy Micro last October, the Nintendo DS currently stands as the company's most current portable handheld system. Pinnacle Studio 9 Media Suite - Video Editing Software Suite

5 stars (Great Home Editing Software) - Media Suite is a great sowtware combo! It's includes four discs and two manuals Pinnacle Suite: You can do just about anything a home editor needs to do using this suite. (I would not recomend it porfessionally) The green screen effect is good but hard to perfect it so you cant tell there was a differant color there first. All the effects are great. You get large variety of them in this pack. Though there are still houndreds of dollars wirth of eother effect, songs, special effects, etc. That you have to buy seprantly. The controls are very compliated it took me about two weeks of playnig around with the program until i felt truly comfortable using it. Steinberg Wavelab: This program has a very small amount of features but what it does have is complicated. Your can record audio as long as you like and then add aprox. 3 effects choosing from a list of 20. It very easy to take out or add in parts of audio (edit) Corel Photobook: Have have only used this ounce but from what ican see see you can do simple edits on pictures. The tools are much like those of the microsoft programs. Pinnacle Instant Copy, Pinnacle DVD Recorder: I have used neither of these. 1 stars (Software HodgePodge that never works as advertised) - If you want to spend time creating videos this is not the product for you. There is a reason that they are on Version 9, 8 previous poor products and counting. Installation crashes are normal and product support people know nothing about the product. Every upgrade (you pay for) introduces new problems or takes away previous capability and applying their patches are risky at best. Don't buy it!!!!! 1 stars (Do not spend your money for this Software) - This software has serious memory problems. It can not run smoothly and froze my computer on a regular basis. Pinnacle PCTV USB2 210100387 TV Tuner and Video Capture Device

3 stars (Does what it says, but...) - As a TV tuner it functions OK. It isn't anything spectacular, but when one considers the comparatively high resolutions that computer monitors produce (as opposed to traditional PAL/NTSC televisions) the quality is rather good. A previous reviewer claimed that the A/V inputs were not functional. That is absolutely false. I currently have my Xbox plugged into it and am playing it windowed on my PC. My complaints are that 1) There is a video lag with the inputs, 2) The provided software is sketchy at best, and 3) Pinncale demands extra money to 'unlock' different encoding methods, (i.e. Mpeg-2, Mpeg-4, VCD, etc.) In short, it does what it says, but that is about it. 1 stars (It's only a TV port, NOT a capture device - BEWARE!!) - If I could give it NO stars I would. IT'S A RIP-OFF!! Those reviewers who found this product OK are only using it as a TV device, not for external video capture. Sure, it works adequately as a TV device (so the one star is probably justified after all) but it is emphatically NOT a video capture port as supplied. Pinnacle's own bundled software does NOT support video input (neither for live display nor for capture) via the temptingly-annotated Composite or S-Video ports. It only 'sees' inputs on the UHF (TV) antenna input. Pinnacle have been promising to include this functionality for over 6 months but, so far, NADA!! Of course, the only way you can get to see the deluge of negative feedback this generates is to purchase the product to gain access to the support forums. The public aren't allowed in... Here's kicker #1 - if you're prepared to spend the same money again Pinnacle will sell you their Studio 9 application which (I THINK) supports these external (non-TV) video inputs. Now for kicker #2 - alternatively you can buy (again for a comparable ADDITIONAL cost) a third-party app called ShowShifter which has absolutely no problem seeing, displaying and capturing the extra inputs in this Pinnacle-...

Podcasting- Do It Yourself Guide

5 stars (Excellent resource and guide) - I've been listening to Todd's podcast for the past few months and have decided to join the podcasting bandwagon. The book is very well written - covers all of the topics required to define, create, record and publish your podcasts. The book saved me countless hours of frustration and pointed me in the right direction for recording equipment. A great book for anyone thinking about getting into podcasting or understanding what podcasting is all about. 4 stars (A solid introduction to Podcasting, told by someone with a lot of in-the-field experience!) - As someone who is only just dipping my digital voicebox into the podcasting ocean, this DIY Guide was extremely useful. It guides you through the basics of setting up on the computer you've probably already got with a cheapo microphone and freeware audio editing with Audacity. It also shows how a few more steps can lead to a far more professional sound with relatively minimal effort and expense. I also like the frequent "notes" which highlight important terms and ideas, many of which I know, but some of which were new. Cochrane's explanations are always easy to understand. The only downside is that this book was released before iTunes support for Podcasting became the pod-word of the month. While the iTunes influence might be slightly over-hyped, it is changing the podosphere. Perhaps a second edition of the DIY Guide will come out early next year and give us another healthy survey of all things poddy. 5 stars (Podcasting The-Do-IT-Yourself Guide by Todd Cochrane) - The book "Podcasting: Do It Yourself Guide by Todd Cochrane" is a great book.
