5 stars (Wedding Planner/Coordinator Guide ) - I loved this book because it didn't totally focus on the aspect of becoming a wedding planner, but also the more silent topics. It provided me with perfect examples of purchase orders, service requests, billing, and the how to's of marketing my future business. One can apply the information in this book to almost any personal business with a little tweeking of words and services, of course.... Highly recommend the FabJob Guide to becoming anything your heart desires!!! 4 stars (Dynamite!) - For the size and intent, this is the best book on the market. If you are thiking of becoming a professional wedding planner, this introductory book covers all the things you will have to learn. What it doesn't cover in detail, it points you in the direction of where you can find more information, with recommended websites and book titles. What it won't do, however, is teach you all the minute and various specific details that apply to your market and jurisdiction. As with any business, you still have to do a lot of legwork before you can actually make any money. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know exactly what's involved in getting started. 5 stars (A very useful book) - I have just finished reading this wonderful book. The information is precisely what I was looking for to start up my own wedding planning business. Over the years I had helped family and friends plan weddings and was wondering how I could do this as a paid career. The sections on getting clients, handling vendors and how much to charge for my services was really helpful. Also I agree with the other reviewer, the worksheets like the timeline schedule and budget sheet will be very useful. I am so excited to get started! ... 1 stars (Panic in the wedding aisle!) - Yikes! I am newly engaged, and this book scared the bejebbers out of me! My fiance and I were looking at a simple wedding. This book intends to scare you into looking at more and more elaborate proceedings. Finally, you are at the point where you believe no one but a diety called a "wedding planner" can actually pull off a wedding. Perhaps it is where I live and my social-economic class, but this book view of etiquette is manners that quickly translates into cash. I literally woke up in the middle of the night when I considered how much everything would cost and how far behind the wedding planning was. My friends who are married knew what sort of wedding I had in mind and did not hestitate to tell me to send the book BACK. 5 stars (This massive guide is all-inclusive and brilliant) - Not just for Etiquette! This book is an impressive wealth of knowledge and information, and is just loaded with useful information that I've never found in other wedding books, and I've bought and browsed my share of them. You need not worry this book will just repeat information you may already have in other books, this book will complement your collection and give you lots of details you probably won't find anywhere else. It's the wedding Bible. And, although Post is the authority on Etiquette, not only is this guide the only Etiquette helper you'll ever need, it also is a huge help in planning and ideas. You won't find any glossy full color photos in here but this book offers so much those other more "glossy" books don't have. This is a MUST for any engaged couple. 5 stars (Great wedding resource, more than etiquette) - This is a great book for any bride to be. It includes not only etiquette, but it also has tips. It was especially useful for wording on invitations, and also for the envelopes. A classic! ... 5 stars (Great Present!) - My friends LOVED this as a first anniversary present! It was beautiful, the artwork was detailed, and it was paper so perfect for a First Wedding anniversary. We took a picture of all 3 of us, and it is now the first entry in the book. Great buy! 5 stars (Good Suppliment for wedding or shower gift) - My husband gave me this book for our 1st anniversary. It is a great way to document the years with minimal effort. A picture and a few sentences about the year. I can't wait to show my kids how their mom and dad looked when we were first married. The artwork is beautiful and the sayings are cute. I now buy this book as a suppliment to a wedding or shower gift. IT is a great way to add a personal touch! 5 stars (Nice book.) - My parents got this book for my husband & me. I don't know that I would have picked it out for myself, but it serves its purpose beautifully. The cover & the box are smooth & attractive; the pages are heavy-duty; the illustrations are pretty; what little text there is is interesting & useful. It's especially nice, I think, that there are slots for 3" X 5" or 4" X 6" pictures. Unfortunately, these aren't standard professional picture sizes, but that was only a problem for us the first year or so; we don't have professional photos taken very often. I think it'll be a lot of fun to look back through all the pictures and memories with our grandkids on our 50th anniversary. ... 5 stars (More great information from The Knot!) - This books was very informative on traditions, and sample toasts. It also included suggested music lists and vowes. A great book! 2 stars (OK if you can't be bothered to search) - Although much of the information contained in this book is available through other sources--www.onewedding.co.uk, for example--it is likely to be useful for someone in the beginning stages of planning their wedding and reception. 4 stars (not just for the bride and groom) - I am the romantic type and have been dreaming about my wedding since forever, but I bought this book, because there are so many great verses/poems/quotations about love. I like to include them in love letters to my boyfriend. Also has a great section on toasts if you are looking for just the right thing to say at an up and coming wedding. ...
