1 stars (Wasted Money......) - Wow, I know that I can be a fool, but I was definately robbed of $16.00, even after reading the front and back of this very deceiving book! I mean, I know that I need help with anger, but this book just seemed to make me ANGRIER! I spent $16.00 on a wanna-be Bible (Something I could have gotten for free at my FORMER Church) and the contents only seemed to anger me more! Not only did half of their text not make sense, their descriptions of anger and recognizing anger only seemed to categorize the entirety of this country! The verbage used and perspective in which this ~story~ is told borderlines an autobiography of a man named "Tom". If you like a good bedtime story, like to waste time and money, and do not need real anger management help, then by all means buy this "novel". My opinion~ Dont waste your time or money, you already wasted enough reading my review! Kyle.... 5 stars (Great help!) - This book changed the way i veiw anger. Yes, i am a bible believing Christian and this book does use the bible as a source of reference. I learned so much about my anger and the anger of others. It encouraged me and gave me tools to work with to choose to control my anger. I can't wait to read their next book! I also understand how to respond better to angry people. It is a real eye opener! 5 stars (Anger Managment) - This workbook provided immediate results on how to deal with anger. I did not believe anger was an issue with me until I read and understood anger also comes in the form of frustration and irritability. In reading and working through this book I found that I have a choice on how I respond to situations and it's up to me to decide how I will deal with issues in my life. I am glad I purchased this book to use as a reference or to offer to my friends. ...

Captivating- A Guided Journal - Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman-s Soul

3 stars (Not quite captivating...) - I love the book by the Eldredges entitled CAPTIVATING, but I was a little disappointed in the companion journal. A lot of space is taken up by quoting paragraphs from the book and the questions are sometimes redundant. I also found that it takes a little too long to complete a chapter of the journal. I'm anxious to get back to the book and maybe hold off on the journal for a later time. ...

5 stars (Great Stuff without all the fluff) - Maxwell does a great job of breaking down the essentials of Leadership without turning it into rocket science. While a bit wordy, it is still an easy read and easy application. My organization is now using this as the basis for leadership development with front-line supervisors. 5 stars (A great book to start with!!) - This is the basis that makes Dr. Maxwell to write all the series about leadership, it is a easy to read book, with clever ideas that will turn your life on!! Wild at Heart Field Manual- A Personal Guide to Discover the Secret of Your Masculine Soul

4 stars (Finally, An Answer) - The book is expansive, deep and yet fairly easy to read. In straightfoward terms the author shares his observations about men and women. He carefully builds his case that God made man and woman to reflect the LORD's own masculinity and feminity. Each has a role to play in shaping and developing the world; when sin entered these roles were corrupted and the Enemy has worked hard to keep us in the dark about what it means to be masculine. John Eldredge takes time to explore the things that motivate men and how many of us avoid being the man God made preferring to pretend to be something we are not. He shows how men were made for God's glory and how they can recover what was lost in the Fall. 5 stars (Not Just a Study Guide...) - The Field Manual is not just one more study guide to grind out some more revenue from a popular book. It is a structured journey deep into the heart that goes far beyond the original book. God will change the man who slowly, humbly, prayerfully works through this book. Yes, he is a radical, but in his defence - so was Jesus. It's been a while since I've read Wild at Heart (WaH), but I recall it being refreshing to my faith, just as Eldredge in person has been refreshing to me. I've had the privilege of listening to him speak a few times. I've read all his books (haven't seen the videos) and I get them confused, but what I've really taken away from the man is his vision of the way church should be, that is a band of brothers. Granted, he doesn't delve into any 'bands of sisters.' Probably only because that would be outside the scope of this book? Experiencing the Heart of Jesus - Knowing His Heart- Feeling His Love

5 stars (Best Bible Study So Far) - I've been in the same women's bible study for 5 years now. This is the best study we have ever done. It helped me understand Jesus in a way I never have. I like the "workbook" approach of making you match verses with interpretations. I have learned where the books are in my bible just by looking up so many verses. I feel closer to God than I ever have before, and much of that was the guidance of this book during a difficult time. 1 stars (Experiencing whose heart? ) - Ought to have been titled "Experiencing the ramblings of Max Lucado" or "Experiencing the Dogma of Christianity". The anecdotal stories that lead up to more anecdotal examples were trite. The 1001 blurbs written in the margins from previous books that he has written were trite. His writing style is, I'm guessing, supposed to be fresh, street, or "where you are"; but, it's painful and aggrivating to read. Ah, but you "identify" with his style; I'm not one of them. I find the tone dry, self-indulgent, and the content not living up to the thesis captured in the title or his churchy infomercial that we endured. If you want a book on personal development, read "The Search For Significance" by Robert McGee; if you want a book about the historical Jesus (I mean the real Rabbi from the North), read the forward to the Jewish New Testament by Stern for a start (follow up with James Scott Trimm or Anthony Buzzard, or Bart Ehrmann, or http://religion.rutgers.edu/iho/). So what would've helped? Tell me ABOUT Jesus! Tell me who he is! Why he was here! What his 'deal' was! Why people should listen to him! Differing opinions of him! Why his words might be relevant for today's world! Oh, I almost forgot site your sources! Nonetheless, Nelson publishers have great graphic artists designing beautiful cover art, but that's about all I see when perusing Xp titles anymore. 5 stars (Awesome Study Guide) - This is truly the best book I have ever read.
