1 stars (Amateurish) - Not worth buying. I got screwed into buying this piece of so called software that says it calculates mortgages and is flexible. It will only calculate a monthly payment no weekly payments. There is a Budget Organizer that mostly anyone can do without. As for the comparaison between Renting and buying it is useless if you want to buy and have the cash. The whole thing is MADE FOR THE US NOT FOR CANADA. In all it is not worth buying. The only piece of information that could be usefull is the Glossary of term for the amateur. A good advice - Consult a Mortgage Broker you will be way ahead. I want my money back! ... 5 stars (Fosters Team Integration) - This upgrade is worth its price. Used in conjunction with Project Server and Project Professional 2003 the program now allows project tasks to appear in Outlook calendars and messaging. As a project manager, I find this feature eases communications with team members and fosters greater team participation. This ease of communication saves time and money. If you have doubts over this upgrade, my unequivocal recommendation is to proceed. The software's tight integration with other Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, enables you to focus on project goals, not the technology that supports them. ... 1 stars (ACT! 2005...Gone BAD!) - Act has been a constant software companion for me since the 2.0 version with miles and miles of my most sacred business data. I always upgraded the product as soon as the new versions came out and for the most part was always happy with the new releases. But when ACT! 2005 came out I heard some bad stories from inital reviews so I waited....then an update for 2005 came out to correct many of the issues the original release exhibited. So I finally decided to upgrade, convert my old data over and expected to have a pleasant experiece with the latest features and supposedly speed that SQL use was to provide. WRONG! After working with my data for awhile I noticed the database was SLOW, I was missing fields, notes, history, etc. but not for all of my contacts, it seems interspersed throughout my database. In using the layout designer tool it has hosed up my layouts so bad that some fields do not even show up in the Layout Designer but in the Contact View are way over to one side. This has cost me many hours of work trying to get my ACT! 2005 to function properly out of the box. Do not buy this product, it is a waste of your money and will waste your time, especially if you used previous versions of ACT! and will frustrate the heck out of Advanced ACT! user. I am going back to ACT! 6.0, atleast there is support for it for a few more years and give me time to look at other products in the market place. 4 stars (What is going on?) - I first began to work with ACT! in 1987 when the original founders of Contact Software showed up in my office and presented their ACT! software to me for testing. At the time I was a partner with a Big 8 accounting firm working with startup technology companies. I thought enough of the software and the company to leave the world of public accounting and join the company as their president and CEO for a short time to get them focused and funded. Since that time, I have used ACT! as an executive sear... 4 stars (This program made me a "switcher") - I've been using contact managers since the late 1980's. I've always been partial to Act! in all of it's incarnations because it was fast and flexible. Goldmine has a ton of great features but it's difficult to use and its interface STILL seems to be trying to break free from its DOS roots. Until now, I've had to remain on the PC platform because it's been difficult for me to justify using a Mac because I couldn't find a program that could handle my contact management in a way that I was comfortable. Daylite solved that problem for me and I recently switched to the Mac. For me, the "killer" feature was the ability to assign "roles" to various contacts in the database. I'm a real estate broker and can frequently have a contact who is a home buyer and a home seller -- two completely separate roles. I've never been able to find an off the shelf solution that would allow me to easily create a project or opportunity and assign the same contact to 2 different roles in the same database. The depth at which you assign roles, categories, keywords -- and even create CUSTOM FORMS and data fields -- makes this program incredibly flexible! But it also means, as the previous reviewer stated, that there can be a bit of a learning curve. I'm the kind of person who never reads a manual -- I just plunk down and figure out a program. That wasn't the case here. So be warned that if you really want to experience the power, there's some book reading to do. I'm giving this application 4 out 5 stars for a couple of reason. #1 - as was previously mentioned; you need to buy the DMI module separately. Linking your e-mails is ESSENTIAL in today's business world and not including that as part of the program just doesn't make sense. The second reason I'm not giving Daylite 5 stars is because of its lack of easy import/export to the basic Mac OSX tools like the calendar and address book. It does have impor/export capabilities but not "... 4 stars (Easy and fast.) - I used this software to create a handbook for the company where I am employed. I'm always pressed for time, and Policies Now was simple and quick. I created an entire handbook in no time. I receive email updates on changing HR laws from Knowlegde Point, which is helpful. The software also allows you to create your own inclusions that apply specifically to your own business. The user can create the handbook as HTML, text, or a Word document, which is great. Overall, I was very satisfied. 5 stars (Over 100 policies written in 2 hours) - I wrote an entire company policy manual in less than 2 hours. It is about 100 policies and is very professional. This is a super product. I wish we knew about it at my former company. ... KNOWLEDGEPOINT :: Manager (Managers) :: Computer software (programs) :: :: Policies Now 6 0
