Solitaire Antics Ultimate

5 stars (Suprises!) - We enjoyed this game very much. It is greatly improved over their previous game with the antics and graphics much more superior-and enjoyable! It was billed for Mac and windows and it worked flawlessly in my Mac. 5 stars (A Superb Programme of Solitaire Games!) - If you enjoy playing the solitaire games that come pre-loaded with a pc, this is a real treat. This was my first computer game purchase (and I only bought it because our pre-loaded games became corrupted). I basically wanted to replace that which we'd lost, and I ended up with something I wish I'd bought years ago! I'm no computer whiz, so I was pleased to find installation was a breeze (it took no more than a couple of minutes). Not much is included by way of instructions, but it's surprisingly sufficient--just a little card that tells you how to install if your computer doesn't do so automatically and a few key tips to get you started (just be sure to install the antics when asked!). The 225 games include Freecell, Klondike (ie. regular solitaire) in both three-card flip, one-card flip, and three-card flip Las Vegas versions, Ukranian Solitaire, Agnes, and Spider, to name but a few. One can also create one's own game or play online. I recommend checking out the company's website (masque.com) if you want a more detailed listing of the games included or screen shots of what a couple of the games actually look like during play. I love Freecell, but I'm finding other games I really enjoy too. One nice feature is the ability to choose games that are skill-based, luck-based, two-deck, one-deck, usually winnable, rarely winnable, and so on. A key feature is the fact that you DO NOT have to insert the disc every time you want to play games (unlike some of the programmes on the market!). Slots - MultiPlay Video Poker

2 stars (Disk required) - No where in the product description does it say that the disk must be in the computer to play this game. That is an unacceptable requirement for me. It should be plainly stated in the product description, then we could make an informed choice. 5 stars (WONDERFUL!) - This game is very realistic. A great source of fun for hours of entertainment. Easy to use. 5 stars (Great training for the real thing!) - Lately there have been a number of shows on TV regarding Las Vegas - the hotels, food, shows, shopping --- gambling! After viewing them I thought it would be fun to visit. Naturally I would want to try my hand at gambling, but certainly don't want to lose my shirt! With that in mind I ordered "IGT Slots and Multiplay Video Poker". Since slots are pure luck I decided to focus on the video poker. With video poker you can increase your chances through making the correct card decisions. The software loaded quickly and I selected the game "Jacks or Better" to train on. The game is neat because not only can you play as if you were in a casino but you can also make card choices and the system will give you a score based on what an expert would do. If your choice is not the best you can look to see where you made your mistakes. The sounds and graphics are excellent. Grab a beer or glass of wine and you created your own private casino (without the cash of course). By the end of the first day I was playing a game that I had never heard of before with 92% accuracy! I felt like I could handle the real deal in a casino. The software includes 50 of the best slot machines like Wild Cherry, Hot Peppers, Haywire and Five Times Pay. Many video poker games such as Joker Poker, Bonus and Double Bonus. Blackjack and Spanish 21 are also included. The instructions were good but as a complete novice there was some terminololgy I was unclear on and hence had to do a quickie internet search. But overall I feel its very good training! Reel Deal Slots Nickels - More

5 stars (Most realistic) - Really enjoy this program. Work in a Casino. This has the most realistic approach to the games. Like the lobby to change the game to play. Moving from one machine to another. 4 stars (Lots of Fun and Bonus Games All Around) - Short of being able to duplicate the real thing, this is most satisfying and fun to play. Only complaint I would put forward would be that you win way more often than you would in reality. Otherwise, the bonus games are varied and even occasionally challenging. 5 stars (Absolutely addictive) - I love all Phantom slots but this is the best yet. They just get better all the time, and if you visit their website (PhantomEFX.com) message boards you'll see why. Someone from support is on there all the time trying to make things better for their customers. Even to the point of changing an upcoming game from 9 lines to 20 lines because that's what their regulars wanted! They have a new line of slots coming out in August, and they're promising to be even better--but I don't think you can go wrong with either Nickels & More or Nickel Alley. ...

Tournament Poker 2005- Collector-s Edition

5 stars (Terrific Way to Improve your Game) - This program sure beats playing in the play money rooms online. I always finish in the top 3 at party poker online. Imagine my shock when I lost on the beginning level. Ive been playin for about a year and have read tons of books. I read a previous reviewers thread where he states he beat this program the first time he played and it was on the highest level. Liar Liar pants on Fire!!! The opponents in this program become better and better as you get to the last table. The last 5 or 6 opponents are extemely good. Better than anything your gonna get online. I highly recommend this program. 5 stars (Poker overhaul) - I've been playing poker for quite a while now and until now, I really haven't found a decent enough game to play on my own. This game is awesome! You have so many options for playing and can speed up games that would normally get dragged out by slow computer play. With tournament play, small tournaments, friendly games and even a heads-up poker option, you can hone in your skills for all types of game-play. My gf and I love this game and has improved our skills a great deal. Recommended! 4 stars (Good for learning, advanced players may need to look elsewhere) - I've read a lot of the reviews and I agree there are definite drawbacks with the AI. The interface and the graphics are very good. Nice pot-odds and percentages displayed at the bottom of the screen. However, there seems no way the computer AI will beat a tight-aggressive player (especially if you slow-play). Very questionnable calls and lay downs. The AI actually laid down Big Slick against a single-bet re-raise. I won the game's 2003 WSOP tournament the first time I tried it (on the highest difficulty level). I've won a few tournements before, but there is no way I would ever have won any WSOP. Great game for leaning, but I wouldn't use it to sharpen advanced skills. ...

5 stars (Hoyle Card Games) - The games are challenging and all function as appropriate. The games are good for all ages. 4 stars (A little new, a little old) - I love Hoyle Card Games. Ever since the Facemaker came along, I've been having fun creating versions of people I know. This latest iteration is no exception, but now you are doing your customizations with Hoyle Bucks - a virtual carrot for you to chase that "unlocks" neat new features. These new features include the ability to make monsters and pets (one style cat and dog, unfortunately), choose new music, choose new decks and backgrounds, and customize your character's play space with objects such as disco balls and a cold beverage. The virtual carrots also include new boards for cribbage. Nicely done. My one point of contention comes with the new players and the bowing out of some old players. The carryover players, such as Harley and Elaine, have very few new lines, if any. The new characters are pretty shallow and not entertaining in the least, save Capt. Scurvy. One question: What happened to GAX?! I'd drop Roswell in a second in favor of Gax. By the way... Kudos for adding Spite and Malice!! It's my new favorite game! 2 stars (Could be a lot better) - There are several programming errors. As an example it doesn't save the settings consistently so you will have to constantly reset it to your preferences. The game play is below average and there are not enough game specific options. For a simple card game program that Hoyle has updated for many years, it falls short in quality. I expected a much more refined product. My suggestion is to look elsewhere. ...

4 stars (RECOMMENDATIONS) - THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS YOU CANNOT SAVE A GAME AND RETURN TO IT LATER. WHEN YOU BEGIN AGAIN THE OPPOSING PLAYERS MONEY TOTALS ARE RENEWED. This particular box I recently bought for a friend was not compatible with his laptop PC for some reason. It works fine on my desk computer though. 3 stars (Casino 2004?) - Let me start by saying that the graphics and audio interaction is nice. However, that is where it ends. They have removed some of the video slots that were on the old version and as far as the poker goes? This is the most non-dealing version I have ever seen. I have played some poker in real life and I have never gone so many hands without even a pair, had so many "high card" hands in a row and seen so many flushes, full houses and four of a kind hands as the "computer players" get in a tournament. I was really disappointed in this version. I have faithfully bought the new versions each time they came out, however I have doubts about doing it again. Sierra/Hoyle let me down this time. ...
